Description

American politician (1760-1833) who succeeded Alexander Hamilton as Secretary of the Treasury under Washington and Adams, and went on to serve as governor of Connecticut. Revolutionary War-dated partly-printed DS, signed “Oliver Wolcott, Jun'r,” one page, 6 x 5, February 28, 1782. State of Connecticut pay table document issued to Treasurer John Lawrence to pay Captain John Warner for 10 pounds. Signed at the bottom by Wolcott as a committee member. Countersigned by Eleazer Wales and Hezekiah Rogers. In very good to fine condition, with staining to the right side.
