Description

Manuscript DS, signed “Victoria R,” one page, 8 x 12.75, April 1850. Request from the War Office, which reads: "That with a view to greater efficiency as well as economy, the Cornwall Rangers Militia, consisting of ten Companies, and the Second Regiment of Cornwall Militia, consisting of Two Companies, may be formed into one Regiment to consist of Twelve Companies, and to bear the title of the 'Cornwall Rangers Militia.'" Approved and signed in the upper left corner by Queen Victoria. In very good to fine condition, with some light creasing, and binding holes to the left edge. Accompanied by an engraved portrait with facsimile signature.
