Political leader from Pennsylvania best known for engrossing the Declaration of Independence on parchment (1736-1829). Engraved 6.25 x 3 lottery ticket issued by the State of Pennsylvania to fund the "Schuylkill and Susquehanna, and Delaware and Schuylkill canals," May 18, 1795, signed at the bottom in ink, "T. Matlack" and "W. M. Smith." In very good to fine condition, with toning and paper loss to the left edge.
