He also held a number of other cabinet posts, including Home Secretary and Chancellor of the Exchequer. Scarce ALS signed “North,” one page, 7.25 x 9.25, November 12, no year. Handwritten letter, in part: "Since I wrote to you, I have consulted as many of my friends in the H's of Commons as my present situation would allow upon the proposed notion of thanks to…Fletcher Norton…If the thanks are so worded, I believe they will pass by a numerous though not a unanimous vote. My physician forbids me to go out till Wednesday, but I do not wish that any business should be put off for my attendance." In fine condition. Accompanied by an engraved portrait.
