American statesman (1752-1816) and signer of the Constitution from Pennsylvania who authored several sections of that document, including the well-known preamble. ALS signed “Gouv. Morris,” one page, 7.5 x 9.5, January 30, 1811. Letter to Jonathan Barrall, the cashier of the Branch Bank, in full: "You have enclosed a Bill for $1200 which you will have the Goodness to cash and pass to my Credit. I send the Letter annexed to it for want of another Endorsement." In fine condition, with old paper tape to the perimeter. Accompanied by an engraving bearing a preprinted facsimile signature.
