Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from New Jersey (1737-1791) who is also known as the designer of the first official American flag. Partly-printed DS, signed “Fra's Hopkinson, Clk. Dist. & Circt. Cts.,” one page, 7.75 x 3.25, April 17, 1834. Unusual financial document, in full: "I certify that there are no unsatisfied judgments remaining on record in my office against William B. Fling obtained since the first day of October 1831." Boldly signed at the conclusion by Hopkinson, and vertically endorsed by him: "None to this daye, November 15, 1834, Fra's Hopkinson, Clk. Dist. & Circt. Cts." In fine condition, with multiple vertical folds. Accompanied by an engraved portrait bearing a facsimile signature.
