Balthus coordinates a visit to "the Napoleonic souvenirs in the peninsula"

Esteemed but controversial Polish-French modern artist (1908-2001). TLS in French, signed “Balthus K. de Rola,” one page, 5.5 x 8.75, French Academy in Rome letterhead, July 15, 1969. Letter to Gaston Palewski, in part (translated): "I take good note of the trip of the France-Italy Association group at the beginning of next October to visit the Napoleonic souvenirs in the peninsula. The Villa will of course be open to your friends at a time that suits you." In fine condition, with a light crease and paperclip impression to the upper left corner.
