Description

TLS as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom, signed “Yours sincerely, Joseph P. Kennedy,” one page, 8 x 10.5, Embassy of the United States of America letterhead, May 31, 1938. Letter to Lord Kemsley, in full: "The photograph of you and your six sons will make one of my most treasured souvenirs of this Country. You are indeed to be envied at having such a fine looking family to grow up around you. Obviously, you aroused my own paternal pride to the extent that I am venturing to send you, in exchange, the enclosed picture of my wife and myself, surrounded by my offspring. I am glad you enjoyed the luncheon, and it was a great pleasure to have you. I am hoping to receive the reprints of the articles on American Relations, and am looking forward to seeing you again soon." Kennedy adds the salutation in his own hand. In very good to fine condition, with light creasing, and staple holes and a paperclip impression to the upper left corner. Accompanied by three copies of typed letters from Kemsley to Kennedy.
