In full: "Your letter of September 29th with inclosure of memorandum from Mr. Haugaard has been received. I think your suggestion is all right. I shall be glad to serve as the fourth member of the Board of Award." In very good condition, with a trimmed left edge, central vertical fold, and many heavy horizontal folds. In 1921, Roosevelt was stricken with polio and often visited Warm Springs to convalesce. Pleased with the therapy he received there, he started the Warm Springs Foundation in 1927 to provide care for other polio victims.
