Description

Life on tour with Fleetwood Mac—a remarkable archive of 700+ enchanting candids

Remarkable collection of 22 original vintage glossy 11 x 8.5 contact sheet prints of Fleetwood Mac taken by Sam Emerson, featuring over 700 images of the iconic group in a combination of classic in-concert shots and intimate, behind-the-scenes candids. Life on tour is brought to life through Emerson's vivid imagery: Stevie Nicks sings and has her makeup done; Lindsey Buckingham jams on his acoustic-electric guitar and his white Les Paul; Christine McVie sings, strums, and plays the maracas; founder Mick Fleetwood pounds his drums and reads the newspaper; John McVie plucks his bass and hangs at a hotel. Seventeen of the prints have been signed in the border in white ink by the photographer, "Emerson." Most bear his credit stamp and "This paper manufactured by Kodak" watermarks on the reverse. In overall very good to fine condition, with occasional editorial markings.

A noted music and motion picture photographer, Sam Emerson broke into the industry with photographs of the Osmond Brothers and Rod Stewart. He then followed Elton John on his 1974 US tour, spent three years with Fleetwood Mac, and embarked on a decade-long collaboration with Michael Jackson. Jackson dubbed him 'the man who captures the magic'-an astute observation, and one lived up to in these exquisite images of Fleetwood Mac on tour.
