Mandela, 24. 4. 95.” Includes a French-language softcover copy of 491 Days: Prisoner Number by Winnie Madikizela-mandela, who has signed the first free end page in black ballpoint, “All my love, Winnie Mandela, 10-2-2014.” In overall fine condition.
Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient for the scarf, which reads, in part: “In 1995 Nelson Mandela was a guest on our national entertainment TV show People of the South, hosted by Dali Tambo…At the end of the program all cast and crew posed for a photograph. As producer, I stand next to Mandela in the picture, and Dali Tambo on the other side. I had purchased a large scarf that celebrated the new South African flag, bordered by piece doves, and adorned with Mandela’s face, which I had worn in my jacket breast pocket…While we were standing in line waiting for the audience to disperse, I asked President Mandela to sign my scarf, and he obliged.”
