Al Worden's commemorative bronze medal honoring the Apollo 15 mission. Designed by Ralph J. Menconi and struck by the Medallic Art Co. of New York in 1971, 126 gm, 63.5 mm. The front shows the crew in relief with raised names and the mission's ‘lunar’ emblem; the reverse depicts the lunar rover driving on the Hadley-Apennine region, with raised text and the lunar module and Earth in the distance. Stamped “Bronze” on the edge, which bears some trivial scuffing.
From the collection of Apollo 15 CMP Al Worden, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from his daughter Alison (Worden) Penczak.
