Brando in full makeup for his Japanese role in The Teahouse of the August Moon

Archive of 696 original glossy MGM production photographs for the 1956 film The Teahouse of the August Moon starring Marlon Brando. The photos, each approximately 4 x 5 or 5 x 4, consist mostly of costume and scene test shots dating between January and July 1956, with numerous photos depicting Brando in full Japanese makeup for his role as Sakini, a wily interpreter assigned to assist Glenn Ford’s Captain Fisby in his task of Americanizing the village of Tobiki on Okinawa. Other image subjects include Ford, Eddie Albert, Machiko Kyō, and a myriad of other cast members. In overall fine condition.
