Description

Pioneering woman film director (1897-1979) who helped launch the careers of Katharine Hepburn, Rosalind Russell, and Lucille Ball. ANS on an off-white 7.25 x 4 slip clipped from a guestbook, June 22, 1931, in full: "To Lillian May—The transmutation, I'm sure, will blossom into something fine after twenty six years of silence. In the silence one puts down deep roots…To remind you of two lectures by Edgcumb Pinchon." In fine condition, with light show-through from other guest book signatures on the back.
