Description

Flown heat shield fragment from the Command Module America, which carried the crew of Apollo 17 to the moon in December of 1972. The fragment, 1.25″ x .5″, is mounted and matted with a felt tip signature of Gene Cernan, and an attractive color background image of Cernan holding the American flag, with caption below reading: “Presented by the Stafford Air & Space Museum on the 40th Anniversary of the Apollo 17 Launch—December 7, 2012.” Framed to an overall size of 13.25 x 13.2.5. In fine condition.
