Unusual grouping of autograph letters from Peter Cushing to Barry Duncan, looking to fill out his collection of English theatrical magazines. Includes an ALS, handwritten note, and handwritten waitlist:
ALS signed "Peter Cushing," one page, 9 x 7, December 1, 1962, in part: "I would be most grateful if you could get me these copies. I want my collection bound eventually. Unfortunately, all these copies I have have been badly spoilt by damp." On the reverse, Cushing writes out the list of Theatre World magazines he is seeking—many of which have been struck through, evidently by Duncan. Several numbers have also been written on the front in an unknown hand.
Handwritten note with signature cut off, one page on a 4.5 x 2.75 notecard, June 17, 1964, in part: "Thank you so much for your card. Am delighted that you've managed to get the 'Playgoers & Society' numbers…Look forward to receiving them when you have time…No sign of Play Pictorial 409 ('The Seagull') yet?"
Handwritten wantlist signed at the top in block letters, "Peter Cushing," one page, 5 x 8, listing the issues of "Play Pictorials" he needs for his collection. Several of the issue numbers have been struck through.
In overall very good to fine condition, with aforementioned annotations and the signature on the card clipped off.
