Description

ALS as president, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 8, Executive Mansion letterhead, August 31, 1887. Handwritten letter to E. E. Richardson, in part: "I expect to spend but one day at Kansas City, and am very much afraid that time will not permit me to comply with your request—though I should be glad to do so. I fully appreciate the value and importance of your work and am much gratified to know that your new building will enable you to promote it in such a large and generous scale…When I was Mayor of Buffalo I took the same part in laying the corner stone of the building." In fine condition.
