Description

English Royal Air Force air officer (1907-1996) who is credited with single-handedly inventing the turbojet engine. Three items: a glossy 7 x 5 photo of Frank Whittle at his desk with a measuring device and cigarette, signed in black ink by Whittle, who adds “1 July ‘84”; a souvenir typescript of a jet engine test memo carried out on April 12, 1937, 8.5 x 11, signed at the conclusion in black ballpoint; and a dual-sided printed biography card, 6.25 x 4, signed on the front in black ballpoint. In overall fine condition.
