Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 15.5 x 19.75, January 30, 1884. President Arthur commissions Robert H. Hall as "Major of the Twenty-second Regiment of Infantry in the service of the United States." Nicely signed at the conclusion by President Arthur and countersigned by Secretary of War Robert Todd Lincoln. In very good to fine condition, with loss to the upper right edge, and a missing lower right corner which has been replaced with a similar-color piece of vellum.
