Limited edition 23 x 30 'Bag One' lithograph suite title page released by New York's Cinnamon Press in 1970, numbered 172/300, prominently signed in pencil, "John Lennon." In fine condition, with some minor wrinkling to the lower right corner, and a small divot to the lower blank area.
In 1969, as a wedding gift for Yoko, John drew the 'Bag One Portfolio'—a chronicle of their wedding ceremony, honeymoon, and their plea for world peace in the Bed-In. The following year the artwork was produced in a series of three hundred portfolios of fifteen signed prints each. The majority depict John and Yoko's most intimate, private moments—upon their first exhibition in London, more than half were deemed 'indecent' and confiscated by Scotland Yard. This title page, or frontispiece, features an iconic image from the set and is far scarcer than the prevalent erotic artworks. A wonderful piece from Lennon's famed series.
