American journalist (1908-1965) best known for his wartime broadcasts from London and his widely respected CBS television news shows See It Now and Person to Person. TLS signed “E. R. Murrow,” one page, 7 x 9, United States Information Agency letterhead, March 27, 1963. Letter to JFK's personal secretary Evelyn Lincoln at the White House, in part: "I hope it will be possible for you and Mr. Lincoln to join Mrs. Murrow and me at a screening of recent USIA film and television productions…As you know, our film and television material is not generally available for screening in this country. We have assembled a representative sampling of our recent productions, and it occurred to me that you might welcome an opportunity to view some of our work." In fine condition. Accompanied by an original 1963 teletype report on Murrow's surgery for lung cancer.
