General Clark writes to a veteran of two World Wars—"It's always our citizenry upon whom we depend when trouble comes our way"

TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, Headquarters Sixth Army, Office of the Commanding General letterhead, December 20, 1948. Letter to Edward C. Voelker, in part: "I note your splendid service to your country in two World Wars. It's always our citizenry upon whom we depend when trouble comes our way. That's why we are devoting so much of our attention out here to the civilian components. We think we are making some progress." In fine condition, with a small bit of adhesive residue in the lower blank area. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
