Description

ALS signed “P. Kropotkin,” one page, 5 x 7.25, November 21, 1897. Written from Graham House shortly before returning to England from the United States, where his radical anarchistic views had made him an unwelcome guest. In full: "I am very sorry that owing to my removal to the above hotel, there was a delay in the transmission of your letter. I would be pleased to meet with you here. Would Monday or Tuesday morning about eleven suit you? I sail on Wednesday. Best thanks for the two copies of the 'Outlook.'" In very good to fine condition, with trimmed edges, and pin holes to the upper left corner. Consignor notes that the letter originates from the collection of Dr. Lyman Abbott, the editor of The Outlook and to whom this letter was most likely addressed.
