Description

ALS, one page, 7.75 x 10, Marl Bank letterhead, September 18, 1933. Letter to Mr. Hesselgrave, outlining necessary instrumentation for a performance. In part: "No harp required. Organ, ad lib, I should of course like to use it…No Bass Clarinet, 3 Trumpets in the Variations, 2 Cornets & 2 Trumpets in Cockaigne, Full Percussion, No glockenspiel." Matted and framed with a portrait and an "Unresolved Enigmas" heading (referencing his most famous piece, 'Enigma Variations') to an overall size of 12.25 x 23. In very good to fine condition, with overall creasing.
