Iconic original 14 x 22 poster for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) featuring an image taken by photographer Danny Lyon, with "Now" printed across the top in black block letters. Printed by the Lincoln Lithograph Company circa 1964, the image shows students singing freedom songs at the 1963 March on Washington, where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his famous 'I Have a Dream' speech. In fine condition, with some light creasing.
Lyon, a Jewish photographer from New York City, was hired as SNCC's first staff photographer and was present at many of the key moments during the Civil Rights Movement. Julian Bond, an activist and co-founder of SNCC, spoke of Lyon's work as '[helping] to make the movement move.'
