Description

Bold ink signature as president, "William McKinley,” on an off-white 10.75 x 4 slip clipped from a military appointment, dated February 20, 1901. Neatly countersigned by Secretary of War Elihu Root, who would be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1912. A pencil annotation on the reverse indicates that this document segment originates from the appointment of Robert H. Hall as brigadier general. In very fine condition.
