Color satin-finish 11 x 14 photo of Van Halen from early 1978, signed in black felt tip, "Look out for tour, Edward Van Halen," "Alex Van Halen," "Cool!! Michael Anthony," with the latter two both having drawn glasses and mustaches to their respective faces, and "David Lee Roth." Reverse bears a 1978 Stars Showcase copyright stamp and is marked along the bottom edge, "VH-1" and "3-7-78." In fine condition, with a faint horizontal bend and the "D" in Roth's first name traced over in an unknown hand. Accompanied by full letters of authenticity from REAL and PSA/DNA.
On the strength of their recently released self-titled debut, Van Halen's first major world tour began on March 3, 1978. Throughout the tour Van Halen was mostly a supporting act for bands such as Black Sabbath and Journey, however, Van Halen did headline shows in Europe and Japan. This photo was signed on March 7, 1978, in Madison, Wisconsin, when the band performed at the Shuffle Inn with opening act Lucy Grey, marking one of the few North American concerts that Van Halen headlined on the tour. A sensational oversized and fully signed photo from early on in the band's career.
