(Fleischer Studios, 1934) Original Color Classics production background from Little Dutch Mill featuring a meticulously hand-painted view overlooking a Dutch town from a clock tower. Accomplished in gouache on a 12 x 9.5 sheet of illustration board. In fine condition. This innovative 'mechanical' background was designed so that the hands of the clock and blades of the windmills are separate cutouts that could be rotated via hand-turned wheels on the reverse. Little Dutch Mill was just the second color cartoon that Fleischer ever produced. This piece was selected for inclusion in The Dawn of Technicolor, published in 2015 by George Eastman House.
