In full: "Lee Harvey Oswald in surgery at Parkland Hospital Dallas. 15 pints of plasma & blood rushed to operating theatre. Oswalds condition critical. Shot in side the bullet did not exit. Bullet fired by Jack Ruby, owner of a striptease club in downtown Dallas. Ruby, known to newsmen, was amongst newsmen in basement of city gaol with group of newsmen, watching transfer of Oswald to County gaol. Ruby in a grey coat & hat, crouched down as Oswald passed, straightened & fired once. Oswald fell, and Ruby subdued after fierce struggle. Expected that Oswald will be in surgery several hours."
