Description

Brazilian composer and conductor (1887-1959) whose many compositions include twelve symphonies, as well as operas, large-scale symphonic poems, concerti, and ballets. DS, signed “H. Villa-Lobos,” one page, 6 x 9.25, Hotel New Weston letterhead, January 1, 1954. Typed document headed "Practical and Fast Advised in 25 Meetings," in full: "I—Revision (practical and lively) of the principal elements of the Musical Theory—Harmony and the beginning of the Contrepoint in his elementary 'especies' (technical word). II—The teacher must watch you write your productions and he must guide it when is necessary. III—The teacher must calculate the lessons, distributing the knowledge, because he must reach quickly to profit the disposition and the vocation of my friend Ronny." In fine condition. Accompanied by an envelope addressed in another hand to Ronny Singer.
