Partly-printed DS, one page, 15.75 x 12.75, August 24, 1790. As governor of Massachusetts, Hancock appoints Isaac Hunter as "Captain of a Company in the third Regiment first Brigade and seventh Division of the militia of this Commonwealth." Boldly signed on the left side by Governor Hancock, and countersigned at the conclusion by Secretary John Avery. The white paper seal affixed to the upper left corner remains intact. In very good condition, with toning, staining, and professional backing to repaired and reinforced tears and fold splits.
