Vintage color glossy 7 x 7 photo of the LM Eagle making its ascent from the lunar surface with Earth in the distant background, signed in black felt tip, "Neil Armstrong," "Buzz Aldrin," and "M. Collins." Affixed to an 8 x 10 mount. In fine condition, with trimming to the photo (slightly nipping the capital letters of Armstrong's signature) and light toning to the trimmed mount. This extraordinary fully signed photograph was presented to John Cleland for lending limousines to the astronauts for their visit to Britain on October 14, 1969. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Cleland's wife, in part: "The photograph was autographed by the three astronauts as a thank you to John Cleland who lent them limousines for their one-day visit to Britain on 14th October 1969 to meet the Queen and the Prime Minister. He had been contacted by the American Embassy as his car firm marketed a Ford-based stretch limousine, which the Astronauts preferred to the more traditional Rolls or Daimler. When the Embassy asked for a bill, he said it was an honour to be part of such a prestigious visit and in no way would he accept payment. So they gave him the signed photograph!" Also includes copies of the itinerary for the trip, a newspaper clipping about the Ford-base limo, the late London edition of The Times from July 22, 1969, a DVD with news footage of the astronauts traveling in the limousines, and a color print of a Alton S. Tobey's artistic portrait of the three Apollo 11 astronauts.
