Two items: an AQS from Dolley Madison on an off-white 4.25 x 6.5 stationery sheet, which is signed "D. P. Madison," dated December 30, 1844, and reads: "'The enduring record of departed goodness dwells in the soul, like the writing that is inscribed upon adamant.'" The second item is an ink signature, "James Madison," on an off-white 3.25 x .5 slip that is affixed to the upper portion of the AQS. In overall fine condition, with some minor soiling.
