The ALS, January 4, 1986, to Dr. Arthur Levine: "Thanks for In Naked Majesty and for that good letter. I'm glad you are not totally out of business; and I will keep in mind your offer to help relieve tensions. Tensions will mount as time goes by. Happy 1986."
September 23, 1986, to Senopoulos: "As a potential candidate now testing the waters, it is heartening to know that I have your support, particularly at this early stage…Our nation faces great challenges in the years ahead, but with the help of friends like you, Barbara and I are very confident of America's future."
February 23, 1987, to Senopoulos: "Thank you for your additional and generous contribution to my Exploratory Account. As Barbara and I look to the future and the decision that lies before us, you can be sure that your early participation will have a great deal of influence, and that we will always remember your valued support." Bush adds: "Great seeing you here."
March 21, 1987, to Senopoulos: "Thank you for agreeing to be my Finance Co-Chairman for Massachusetts. Barbara and I appreciate all that you have done in the past and will continue to do in the future." Bush adds: "Love my sweater! Things are moving."
April 10, 1987, to Senopoulos: "I thought last Saturday's meetings went very well. Barbara and I were delighted to have you at our home and, of course, we are extremely grateful to you for all you are doing for the cause." Bush adds: "See you Wednesday!"

February 25, 1988, to Senopoulos: "I am delighted to hear from the campaign that you will be helping to form an Advisory Council of Insurance Executives for my campaign. This is an important voter outreach effort, and I know that, as always, you will very ably assist me." Bush adds: "Great seeing you (and yours) in Boston…So. Carolina today."
November 17, 1988, to Senopoulos: "Thank you for your generous contribution to my Compliance Committee. This puts you in that special group of maximum donors to my presidential effort." Bush adds: "Thanks friend."
February 10, 1994, to "Rex": "This portrait of Nick Brady by Ronald Sherr is excellent. I would be very pleased if he did one of me for the Portrait Gallery."
May 14, 1996, to "Rex": "Thanks ever so much for that very generous donation to my Library. It is going to be really nice. I hope you will come to the opening in the Fall of '97."
