Two items: an official Pinckard 'Major League' baseball, signed on the sweet spot in blue ballpoint by Carl Hubbell; and an autograph letter in pencil, signed "Carl," two pages, 5 x 7.25, no date but accompanied by an envelope postmarked 1986, to Ken Browne, who assisted with his fan mail. In part: "Doctors have done nothing for me yet doesn't look too good for me yet. The last letter I got from Danning said he intended to drive his car out and may come a little earlier…Thelma was in Seattle nearly two months…She only helps me on the fan mail if there is something to write. She is a fine person and helps me out a lot." "Danning" is most likely Harry Danning, Hubbell's third regular catcher and lifelong friend. In overall fine condition, with uniform toning to the baseball.
