American United States Air Force general (1912-2002) who served as commander of the World War II Tuskegee Airmen. Very rare FDC with a cachet honoring United States Army officer Benjamin O. Davis, Sr., bearing a Tuskegee Red-tailed Angel stamp, an Atom Bomb stamp, and a stamp honoring Davis, Sr., signed in black ballpoint, "Benjamin O. Davis, Jr., for my father—All the best—Ben Davis." In fine condition. Benjamin Oliver Davis Sr. (1880-1970) was a United States Army officer who, in 1940, became the first African-American to rise to the rank of Brigadier General.
