Distinguished Czech composer (1824-1884) best known for his colorful symphonic poem The Moldau and the opera The Bartered Bride. Two vintage ink signatures, "Bedrich Smetana,” on opposite sides of an off-white 5.25 x 2 slip. Apparently, these signatures were used by music publisher Urbanek (Prague) as samples for facsimiles published in their print editions. In fine condition, with intersecting folds. Accompanied by an unsigned cabinet photograph of Smetana by J. Mulac of Prague. From the collection of Stephen Adamson.
