Remarkably early vintage matte-finish 10.25 x 13 full-length photo of Stan Laurel with chisel and hammer during a production of The Nutty Burglars, signed and inscribed in fountain pen to his early agent Claude Bostock, "'You knew me when' Claude! Stan, 1914.” Framed to a slightly larger size. In fine condition. Claude and Gordon Bostock were the early agents of Laurel when he was working the vaudeville circuit with Edgar and Wren Hurley as 'The Three Comiques,' a trio that earned success for an act called 'The Nutty Burglars.' In 1914, the year Laurel signed this photo, Gordon suggested to Laurel that he cash in on the wild success of Charlie Chaplin by having his Nutty Burglar character act more like 'The Tramp.'
