Two letters: a TLS signed "Edward," one page, 6.5 x 8.5, May 31, 1953, in part: "I write to tell you how much Wallis and I enjoyed our voyage in the 'United States.' She is indeed a wonderful ship and we couldn't have been better taken care of from the Commodore down to the bellboys. The cabins are very comfortable and we liked the air conditioning. The food was excellent…Fortunately the weather was good all but one day and we had the pleasure of meeting and entertaining the friends you suggested"; and an ALS signed "Wallis," three pages on two adjoining sheets, 5.5 x 7.25, no date but circa 1956, in part: "The Duke and I are so sorry that you are not well—and we wish we could see you but I supposed that is out of the question—we had a lovely trip over—we were too spoiled as usual." In fine condition. Accompanied by the recipient's retained carbon copies of his letters to the Duke and Duchess.
