Description

LS, one page, 6 x 7.5, New York Tribune letterhead, May 21, 1881. Letter to Charles Dudley Warner, co-editor of The Courant newspaper of Hartford, Connecticut, in full: "Thanks for your kind note and admirable editorial. I will try to use some of it in The Tribune." In fine condition. Charles Dudley Warner (1829-1900) was an essayist, novelist, journalist, and good friend of Samuel L. Clemens, with whom he co-authored the novel The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today.
