The unit measures 14″ x 10″ x 7″, and features a 16-key keyboard, lamp panel display, voltage meter, voltage check switch, mode selector, and on/off switch. The unit allowed the operator to transmit a message in Morse code at a very high speed, helping to evade interception and radio direction finding.
