Letter to future Massachusetts Governor Curtis Guild, in full: "I am not my own master at present, and shall not be until the middle of April & then only for a brief space. I must crave therefore your indulgence, kindly & mercifully even as you would hope for it from a friend were you so circumstanced and straightened round about as." In fine condition, with a light crease to the lower left corner.
