Letter to Mr. Rupert, concerning railroad bonds just after the end of the Civil War. In part: "I have decided to give twenty percent bonus, or margin, instead of fifteen, this will make bonds pay 8% per cent per annum, guaranteed by the Indianapolis & Cincinnati Rail RR Co. The security is as good as that of any bond in the U.S." Double-matted and framed with an engraved portrait to an overall size of 18 x 14. In fine condition.
