Black plastic single-row Remo tambourine with a golden Prince symbol on the head, 10.25″ in diameter, deriving from his first-ever performance at MTV's Video Music Awards, which was held at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on September 11, 1987. In fine condition, with some wear to the edge. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the consignor, who served as a stage manager at the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards, and notes that this tambourine was presented to him by one of Prince's entourage after the performance; Prince tossed several of these tambourines into the audience after his rousing set.
