Impressive 10″ x 10″ section of the 'Green Monster,' the iconic and massive left field wall at Fenway Park, the hometown ballpark for the Boston Red Sox. This large piece, which derives from the left field wall's complete overhaul following the 1975 season, was originally auctioned to raise money for the Boston-area charity, The Jimmy Fund. The section is displayed under Plexglass on a wooden mount measuring 12″ x 12″. In fine condition. Prior to the 1976 season, the 'Green Monster' was a patchwork of unevenly sized pieces of metal; it was given a makeover and covered in hard plastic, with removed remnants such as this sold and auctioned. The 1976 Jimmy Fund auctioned off section measuring 3″ x 5″ and 10″x 10″, with the larger versions now of considerable scarcity—a very desirable piece of Red Sox history.
