Three items signed by Hoover: a glossy 8 x 10 portrait, signed in fountain pen; a TLS, one page, personal letterhead, April 5, 1954, in part: "On the kind invitation of the Iowa State Legislature, I will be in Iowa on August 10th to celebrate my 80th birthday at West Branch"; and a TLS, one page, Hoover Institute letterhead, August 18, 1956, in full: "Your message of birthday greetings was not only heartwarming but an expression of friendship which I indeed appreciated." In overall very good condition, with overall creasing and surface impressions to the photo, and toning to the letters. Accompanied by the original mailing envelopes for the letters, and a booklet bearing a pre-printed facsimile signature on the cover.
