Ballpoint signature, "Muddy Waters,” on an off-white 8 x 10.5 notebook page. In fine condition, with light edge creasing. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient: "In 1969 I was 17 years old and went with some guys I was playing in a blues band with who thought we should see Muddy Waters live (it was my first time seeing Muddy, if I recollect correctly he still had Otis Spann on piano, too). It was very easy to access the dressing room of the Cellar Door Club—the entrance for the dressing room was just to the right on 34th Street where the main entrance to the club was. We timidly entered and there was Muddy sitting on a couch with a case of Piper-Heidsieck champagne on the floor at his feet. He was very pleasant and kind and I had him sign 2 pieces of lined notebook paper."
