Stapled Earth/Post Landing checklist used by the Apollo 13 crew for water egress training in the Apollo boilerplate spacecraft BP-1102A, four pages, 6 x 9, dated January 5, 1970. The checklist features various procedures and alternative measures for a successful splashdown of the Command Module Odyssey (CSM-109). Reverse of last page bears a handwritten transmittal letter from the original owner, dated February 13, 1970, in part: "This is the checklist the crews use for earth re-entry and post-landing procedures. Of course we train them in post-landing procedures only. In fact the Apollo 13 crew used this one & I just yanked it out of the spacecraft." In very good condition, with creasing and some heavy staining. From the personal collection of Paul Kruppenbacher, a member of the NASA Houston Landing and Recovery Division who trained Apollo astronauts in water recovery procedures and was deployed on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers for crew and spacecraft recovery operations.
