Two Space Shuttle vehicle parking permits: a light green 11 x 8.5 parking permit for the "First Landing of The Space Shuttle," or the STS-1 mission, occurring at the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base on April 14, 1981, issued as No. 3129; and a white 8.5 x 5.5 parking permit for the launch of the STS-41-D mission from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on August 30, 1984, issued as No. 0459. From the personal collection of Paul Kruppenbacher, a member of the NASA Houston Landing and Recovery Division who trained Apollo astronauts in water recovery procedures and was deployed on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers for crew and spacecraft recovery operations.
