Two items: a 9 x 12 print of J. N. 'Ding' Darling's sketch of Roosevelt on horseback entitled "The Long Long Trail," signed and inscribed at the bottom in pencil, "Faithfully in—Kai—J. N. Darling"; and a letter from the Woman's Roosevelt Memorial Association, signed by Alice Demorest and Emily Hepburn, one page, 9.25 x 11.75, March 22, 1919, soliciting funds to purchase the property where he was born, in part: "We ask all the women of America who believe that the spirit of Theodore Roosevelt is the American spirit we want for our sons and daughters to work together now to establish a permanent memorial. Will you help?" In very good to fine condition, with light staining to the right edge of the print.
